Wake appointed new Ipsos Australia, NZ MDSimon Wake has 17 years of experience in market research, marketing, audience measurement, and publishing.

Global research company Ipsos has appointed Simon Wake as its new managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

He will take over from Hamish Munro, who has been promoted to CEO of Ipsos South East Asia.

Mr Wake, who is currently the managing director of Ipsos MediaCT in Australia, has looked after the Enhanced Media Metrics Australia (emma) business for three years.

He has 17 years of experience in market research, marketing, audience measurement, and publishing. Previously, he worked for ANOP Research Services, Millward Brown, and Fairfax Media.

He will start on January 1, and will report to Ipsos Asia Pacific CEO Lifeng Liu.

“Simon has demonstrated success through his innovative thinking capability and commercial orientation,” Mr Liu said.

“As an effective business and people leader, I am confident that Simon and the team will continue the momentum of the business already established in ANZ in the past two and a half years.”
