Surge in Ad and Marketing Award entries

More than 400 entries have been submitted for this year’s Advertising and Marketing Awards presented by The Newspaper Works, a significant increase on last year’s numbers.

Winners will be announced at the Future Forum on September 10, following the announcement of finalists on July 1.

“It’s always very encouraging to see a strong response to the Advertising and Marketing Awards,” The Newspaper Works chief executive Mark Hollands said.

“The response is about one-third more than we experienced last year.”

The awards were restructured in 2014, with the Marketing Awards combined with the Ad Awards for the first time. The Marketing Awards had previously been presented at the Newspaper of the Year gala night.

“That was something of a risk, but the Newspaper of the Year became increasingly unmanageable because of the number of awards to be given out on the night.”

This year’s awards will be presented at the Hilton’s Zeta Bar in Sydney.

“It will be a great party and celebration of our industry,” organiser Kylie Hannah said.
