At NewsMediaWorks, Peter will lead the organisation to support Australia’s leading news media publishers, manage industry co-operation and communicate the sector’s value proposition to advertisers. This will include involvement in readership metric emma (Enhanced Media Metrics Australia), the News Media Index that reports whole of industry ad revenue and the industry’s annual conference, to be held this year in September.
During his career, Peter has worked extensively with news media and magazine publishers. He was Group Sales & Marketing Director at Fairfax Media, and at News Corp was Marketing & Circulation Director at Mirror Australian Telegraph Publications and Advertising Sales Director for The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph. In the magazine sector he was National Advertising Sales Director with ACP Magazines (now Bauer Media) and Advertising Sales Director at Pacific Magazines. Peter joined Adstream as Australia Managing Director in 2004 to establish and grow the company in this market.

Mal has an extensive and varied agency experience having worked as a Planning Director at Carat UK, then Managing partner of Australia’s largest media agency, Mitchell Media (now AEGIS Media) for 10 years and 4 years as Head of Digital at MediaCom Australia.
Mal is the inaugural General Manager of The Readership Works Australia, the entity created by NewsMediaWorks in 2010 and charged with introducing a new and ground-breaking audience insight survey in Australia.
Mal has a deep understanding of the business and research requirements of media agencies, advertisers and publishers in a multi-platform world.
Charlie Murdoch Marketing Director
He subsequently held Marketing Director positions in the Outdoor advertising sector, responsible for operations across Australia and New Zealand. In 2013, he joined industry body NewsMediaWorks as Marketing Director. He has been a driving force behind the repositioning of the sector to reflect the multi-media nature of Australia’s leading news publishers.

Dr Tony Wilkins

Prior to joining News Corp, Dr Wilkins was a scientist in medical and forest research for 12 years. At News Corp, Dr Wilkins’ role focussed on product stewardship and developing and leading the organisation’s environmental strategy.
Dr Wilkins assisted in the establishment of Australia’s newspaper recycling plant, which raised the country’s newspaper recycling rate to one of the world’s best. He also led the creation of the award-winning News Corp Environment Sustainability initiative ‘1 Degree’, and he chairs the NSW Environment Trust’s Community & Recycling subcommittee and sits on its Waste & Recycling subcommittee, as well as convening the Corporate Environment Managers Group.
