Singapore Press Holdings has bought a 34.7 per cent stake in the Singapore subsidiary of Australian video marketing company Brand New Media.
The publisher of The Straits Times invested $6.8 million in Brand New Media Singapore last week in a move that will combine the strength of SPH’s media assets and customer network with BNMS’s video content expertise.
BNSM specialises in video-led content marketing and responsive advertising and has clients including Citibank, Media Development Authority and the National Trade Unions Congress’ Fairprice.
Julian Tan, head of SPH’s digital division, said the investment “comes at an opportune time as we strive to complement and enhance our video storytelling capabilities”.
“In recent years, consumption of online videos has seen a steady rise in Singapore. This highlights the relevance of videos not just to consumers but also as a key marketing tool for brands and advertisers,” he said.
