Australia’s major publishers and suppliers are supporting a campaign by The Australian Newsagents’ Federation to promote the strength of newsagencies.
Using the slogan, “Your newsagent. We’re here”, the ANF campaign, along with the Amex Shop Small campaign, will centre on caring about local communities which newsagents serve.
Supporters include News Corp, Fairfax Media, The West Australian, The Canberra Times, NewsLifeMedia, Universal Magazines, Lovatts Media, Just Group, Gordon and Gotch, Hallmark and John Sands.
The ads will feature in national newspapers and magazines, niche magazines as well as on Facebook and Twitter, promoting the personal service and wide range of publications that newsagents offer.
“Maintaining an independent network of retailers which are destinations for the print media is important to maintain visibility and sales, not to mention alternatives to the two retail giants,” ANF CEO Alf Maccioni said.
“A healthy newsagent network also provides a strong base from which newspaper distribution is organised and I hope that newspaper publishers will support this campaign.”
