MEC Australia and New Zealand chief executive Peter Vogel has been promoted to CEO of MEC Asia Pacific.
Mr Vogel will relocate to MEC Hong Kong in the next few months, taking over from Stephen Lin.
Since joining MEC Australia and New Zealand five and a half years ago, Mr Vogel has grown the company considerably, with MEC taking on big name clients such as Nestlé, Netflix, Domino’s Pizza, and Tiffany.
He says he is honoured to be taking on this new role, and looks forward to growing the international organisation.
“This is not only an exciting opportunity, it’s also a big responsibility for all of us in the region; if the Asia Pacific area grows, MEC grows,” he said.
“I’m relishing the challenge to create long-term sustainable growth for MEC. We have the talent, the passion and track record to succeed.”
MEC global CEO Charles Courtier believes Mr Vogel will bring about change and growth in region.
“Peter is one of our industry’s most seasoned business leaders and the natural choice to take on this crucial role,” he said in a statement.
“He has done an amazing job for us as CEO of Australia over the past five and half years, doubling the size of the agency and infusing it with a thriving culture.”
Mr Vogel has had 25 years of experience, and was previously the chief strategy officer for MEC Asia Pacific.
Taking over his role as CEO for MEC Australia and New Zealand will be James Hier.
