Fairfax Media has named Penny Kaleta as national sales director of Australian Community Media.
Ms Kaleta replaces recently retired Ian Thomson and will be responsible for selling audiences to agencies and key advertisers in capital cities.
“My key focus will be on building sustainable growth through product and relationships. It is my privilege to lead a team of diverse and frankly wonderful media sales professionals who are subject matter experts across regional and rural Australia,” she said.
Ms Kaleta joined Fairfax in 2005, receiving the company’s Sales Manager of the year award in 2009. In the same year. She also received Australasian Newspaper Association’s (PANPA) Sales Manager award. Ms Kaleta has over 20 years industry experience in Australia and the UK.
The appointment is part of Fairfax’s move to create new and simple opportunities for advertisers to reach regional, agricultural and community-based audiences.
