Former news.com.au group features editor Melissa Overman will step into the newly created role of executive editor of NewsLifeMedia’s female-targeted content network of digital brands.
The network consists of parenting website Kidspot.com.au, health and wellbeing brand Bodyandsoul.com.au, and beauty destination Primped.com.au. The editorial teams at the brands will report to Ms Overman from Monday.
Ms Overman will be responsible for maintaining and growing the network’s market position with Australian women, while ensuring it has a strong voice that builds meaningful and deep connections.
NewsLifeMedia CEO Nicole Sheffield said Ms Overman had a thorough understanding of digital news and was instrumental in driving news.com.au to number one.
“Melissa is an inspiring and creative leader with a passion for all things lifestyle and celebrity. She also understands how analytics feed into content planning and creation which will be the key to success going forward,” Ms Sheffield said.
Ms Sheffield said NewsLifeMedia had plans to expand the network and launch a younger skewed female news offering by the end of the year.
Ms Overman, a journalist for more than 15 years, began her career in women’s magazines before transitioning early into the digital world.
