NZ Herald app integrates print-digital experience

A new image recognition app that provides an integrated print and digital experience has been launched by New Zealand Herald’s real estate supplement, Herald Homes.

Users of the Herald Homes App can photograph listings in the printed product to reveal additional information about the property including photos, videos and agent information.

Users can also share and save listings, send inquiries to agents and add the dates and times of inspections to their calendar.

NZME’s head of real estate and employment Vikas Verma said the app was another example of how the APN-owned publisher was investing and refreshing its existing offer to readers through technology.

“This gives our readers more information which is easy to access whenever they like, wherever they are,” he said.

News Corp Australia’s REA Group recently launched its PropertyAR app that creates a digital overlay to a real estate catalogue in real time using augmented reality technology.

The Herald Homes App is available to download on iOS and Android mobile devices.
