Leading publisher executive Sharb Farjami has decided to leave his post at News Corp Australia to pursue a new career direction.
Mr Farjami joined News Corp in 2014 as director of national sales and was promoted to the role of chief commercial officer in February. He has overseen significant changes in the company’s approach to sales, including the integration of network sales and NewsLifeMedia sales teams.
News Corp Australasia chairman Michael Miller said he was “disappointed to be losing a colleague of Sharb’s talent but I respect his decision”.
“I would like to thank him for the contribution he has made to our business and for the leadership he has shown. I am pleased Sharb has committed to help us deliver our optimal sales structure for the future.
“Sharb leaves News with my best wishes for the future.”
Mr Farjami said it has been a privilege to be involved with News Corp “at such a challenging and exciting time”.
Before joining News, he was chief operating officer at Mindshare, an agency he worked at for three years. He has also held positions at Ignite Media Brands, Viacom and MTV.
No announcement has been made on a replacement.
