News Corp Australia has combined its technology and digital teams, appointing Alisa Bowen to the role of chief technology officer, effective immediately.
Ms Bowen was formerly group director, digital product and development.
News Corp Australia Peter Tonagh said this decision would enable News to better meet the digital expectations of its readers and customers.
“By bringing the two teams together we will create a platform for stronger collaboration, and speed up decision making and product delivery,” he said in a statement to staff.
Former chief information officer and chief technology officer Tom Quinn will leave News, after working at the company for more than 11 years.
He introduced Eidos Methode, a publishing software, into editorial, and the IT shared service model to News.
