Damian Eales has been named the new group marketing director for News Corp Australia, after the resignation of Corin Dimopoulos.
Mr Eales is currently the publisher’s strategic partnership director. He will take up his new position today.
News Corp Australia chief executive Julian Clarke thanked Mr Dimopoulos for his great work leading the company’s group marketing function.
“Corin has made a significant contribution to the company since he joined,” he said. “
“His achievements include overseeing the launch of news+ and driving outstanding digital take up, streamlining the marketing function and reducing the company’s overall marketing costs.”
Under the leadership of Mr Dimopoulos, News “we’re for . . . “ brand campaign launches won the highest industry accolade at the PANPA Newspaper of the Year awards.
Mr Clarke said he was delighted that a person of Mr Eales’ talent and experience had agreed to take on the role. “Damian has worked in senior marketing roles across a range of industries including as chief marketing officer at both David Jones and Westpac,” he said.
Mr Eales said he was looking forward to marketing News’ print and digital assets to Australians, “News Corp Australia connects deeply with Australians and offers advertisers extraordinary large and engaged audiences,” he said.
“Around 15 million Australians read one of our print or digital publications each week. On the weekends our print network reaches close to five million Australians, which is the biggest single day audience of any medium in the country.”
