Kroon takes on national ad sales role for Fairfax

Kristiaan Kroon 2Fairfax Media has appointed Kristiaan Kroon as national agency sales and commercial partnerships director, responsible for the group’s national agency sales, trading strategy and commercial partnerships.

Mr Kroon, who joined Fairfax a year ago as director of commercial development and partnerships, will continue to report to Australian Publishing Media commercial and marketing services director Tom Armstrong.

In that position, Mr Kroon led Fairfax’s trading strategy with media agencies and key clients and delivered several new commercial partnerships, including Facebook Instant Articles.

Mr Kroon has more than 15 years’ experience in media. Prior to joining Fairfax, he was trading director at UK publisher  Trinity Mirror, where he was responsible for a portfolio including the Daily Mirror – with a weekly reach of 28 million people – as well as leading trade negotiations across key agency groups and top advertisers.
