Katrina Strickland will leave her role as editor of The Australian Financial Review Magazine to become editor of Good Weekend.
The Age editor Alex Lavelle and The Sydney Morning Herald editor Lisa Davies described Ms Strickland as an exceptional choice.
“Katrina was the stand-out candidate, exhibiting passion and enthusiasm for long-form journalism, and the magazine’s editorial and commercial potential. A breadth and depth of ideas was backed by a strong vision for both the printed product and its content online.”
The move from business to culture journalism is one to which Ms Strickland looks forward.
“I’m thrilled to be appointed to lead such a storied masthead and look forward to working with Good Weekend’s excellent stable of longform journalists.”
Ms Strickland will start work in May. She replaces the outgoing Amelia Lester, who resigned last month to relocate overseas.
