Ipsos MediaCT, in conjunction with The Readership Works, will host two ResearchSymposia in Sydney and Melbourne to introduce emma™ (Enhanced Media MetricsAustralia), the new cross platform audience insights survey, along with it its methodology, features and functionality to the industry.
Keynote international speaker at both events will be former WPP Group ResearchDirector Sheila Byfield, who will discuss managing change in the rapidly evolvingmedia and marketing industries.
Byfield was with the WPP Group for 13 years and was responsible for industry andproprietary research studies for the group.
The symposiums will also feature a range of Ipsos executives, including:

- Ipsos MediaCT Global Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Green
- The Ipsos Mind and Mood Report Executive Director Dr Rebecca Huntley

- Ipsos MediaCT Australia Executive Director Kirsten Riolo
- Ipsos MediaCT Australia Client Services Director Mario Paic.
Andrew Green will provide a global overview of cross platform measurement trendsand innovations, while Dr Rebecca Huntley will unveil Ipsos’s new 21st centuryconsumer segmentation model.
Simon Wake will introduce the new emma™ survey, Kirsten Riolo will look at newinnovations and Mario Paic will give an overview of emma’s™ deeper product data.
In addition, independent consultant to emma™, Ian Garland will also speak aboutmeasuring new platforms and the integration of Nielsen Online Ratings.
“The purpose of the Research Symposia is to give those media agency executiveswho will be using the emma™ data regularly an in-depth introduction to emma™, themethodology and how audience estimates are derived. The symposia are anexample of the transparent approach emma™ is taking to audience measurement,”Ipsos MediaCT Managing Director Simon Wake said.
“This is the first symposium of its kind and will provide an industry forum toshowcase and discuss emma’s™ new readership measurement techniques, as wellas broader consumer segmentation and product data.
”The Melbourne symposium will be held on August 13th at Melbourne BusinessSchool and the Sydney symposium will follow on August 14th at Macquarie GraduateSchool of Management.
The symposia precede the first release of emma™ data on August 19th.
