Goss appoints first Asia Pacific MD

Press and finishing manufacturer Goss International has appointed its first managing director for the Asia Pacific region, Tim Mercy.

Local print industry leader Peter Kirwan continues as vice-president and head of sales for Asia-Pacific, covering all Goss products.

Mr Mercy will lead the unified Goss team providing sales, service and support for commercial, packaging and newspaper operations across the region, excluding China.

He has represented Goss in the region for the past 20 years, having previously held the role of vice-president of sales for Goss in Asia. His 40 years in the graphic arts industry includes three decades with Goss, Heidelberg Web Systems and Harris.

“Tim has been a valued resource for printers, publishers and converters throughout Asia for two decades,” Goss president and CEO Rick Nichols said.

“He is uniquely qualified to unify and lead the Goss team in that region and to help us continue to deliver the highest levels of value, product performance and support.”

Mr Mercy’s appointment continues Goss’ strategy of aligning itself among four regional centres in the Americas, Asia, China and Europe.

Goss International is part of the Shanghai Electric (Group) Corporation, an international industrial technology group with annual revenues of more than $12 billion.
