News Corp Australia has appointed Emma Fawcett to the new role of general manager of NewsXtend, a service that offers digital advertising solutions to small- to medium-sized businesses.
Ms Fawcett has been charged with expanding the business which provides display and mobile advertising services, search engine marketing and optimisation, social, email marketing, media, and campaign management.
News Corp Australia’s managing director of community publishing Brett Clegg said NewsXtend was still in its early stages, and the challenge was to maintain momentum, then grow further.
“NewsXtend is on track to deliver fourfold growth in revenues this financial year, thanks to the combined efforts of our digital product and sales teams across the country,” he said.
Ms Fawcett will report to Mr Clegg, and will begin her new role on January 11.
“I’m passionate about the business and look forward to assisting our SME customers to realise the full potential of NewsXtend for their businesses,” she said.
Formerly general manager of sales for NSW, metro, for News Corp Australia, Ms Fawcett has worked for the company for 15 years in varying sales roles.
Theo Zafiropoulos will act as general manager of sales for NSW, metro, until a replacement is appointed.
In Queensland, News Corp Australia has appointed Nicole Comerford to the new role of head of commercial partnerships, metro.
She will provide cross-platform advertising solutions for News Corp Australia’s commercial partners in the state.
News Corp Australia’s general manager of sales, metro ,at The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail Kris Yule said it was important for News to deliver a best-in-class service for its commercial partners.
“Our new commercial partnerships team will deliver innovative, cross platform solutions to best meet our clients’ needs, harnessing advertising, editorial, marketing, circulation and data,” he said.
For the past five years, Ms Comerford has worked as the marketing manager of partnership and events for The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail.
