Fairfax Media has appointed Martin Wood as its NSW agency sales director for Australian Publishing Media.
Mr Wood’s appointment is the first major hiring by Chris Freel, Fairfax’s new national agency sales director. Mr Freel said Mr Wood would bring experience, passion, drive and leadership to the company.
“He is well respected by the team, agencies and advertisers and I am excited to be working closely with him to ensure we continue to drive best-in-market results and solutions for our clients,” said Mr Freel.
Mr Wood was previously the agency group director at Fairfax and has more than 19 years’ experience in media sales, joining Fairfax in 2003 as a sales manager for banking, finance, IT and sport. During his time at Fairfax he has also worked as national advertising manager for The Sun-Herald and director of Fairfax Integrated Solutions.
Mr Wood said of his appointment: “I’m very excited to lead and work with the team as we strive to become the best agency-facing sales team in NSW, through great service, insightful knowledge and a high standard of professionalism.”
