Bauer Media is searching for a new Australasian chief executive after David Goodchild’s decision to step down from the position after little more than a year.
Mr Goodchild will return to London to concentrate on his role at H Bauer Publishing, a division of Bauer Media Group which he has been overseeing as well as Australasia from October last year.
Bauer Media group executive Andreas Schoo will serve as interim CEO of Bauer Media Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong while the company searches for Mr Goodchild’s replacement.
In a statement, Mr Schoo thanked Mr Goodchild for his ongoing commitment to the broader Bauer Media Group.
“David has done a great job at guiding the business through an ever changing media landscape,” he said.
“We believe it’s now the right time to place a permanent chief executive at the helm in Sydney to take these brands into the future.”
Mr Goodchild was appointed Bauer’s Australia and New Zealand CEO after Matthew Stanton departed to pursue a position with Woolworths.
