Key industry supplier Adstream has received approval to buy rival Dubsat by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
The review focused on Adstream and Dubsat’s overlap in the electronic delivery of advertising content to print publishers, television broadcasters, and radio stations.
Concerns were raised that the acquisition would remove the only alternative third party supplier of print advertising delivery services, which could lead to higher prices.
The ACCC found most print advertising is delivered directly to publishers without using the services of Adstream or Dubsat. Advertisers and agencies use online portals, developed by Fairfax, News Corp and other publishers.
